In 2010, the Pac-10 was interesting in expanding its conference by adding 6 more school members. They first reached out to certain teams in the Big 12 including University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech University, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma State University, Baylor University or Texas A&M University and University of Colorado at Boulder. Colorado was the first school to accept the invitation. That brought the total of schools in the then Pac 10 to 11 but they were still looking to add five more. A huge detour came as the Big 12 came to an agreement to keep such teams at Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas A&M in their conference. This eliminated the Pac 10's dream of becoming a 16 team super league. With most of the Big 12 staying with in the league, the Pac 10 had to look elsewhere and did. They sent out an invitation to the University of Utah which was accepted. The Pac-10 then evolved to the Pac-12 due to the addition of the two schools bring the total of schools in the league to 12. The Pac-12 produces excellent athletes often drafted into the NFL for many positions, be on lookout for many players to be high up in the Heisman Trophy odds

Most of the change in the conference will be from the football side. The Pac-12 will now divide into 2 divisions the North and the South. In the north division is University of Oregon, Oregon State University, University of Washington, Washington State University , University of California and Stanford University. The South division is comprised of University of Arizona, Arizona State University, University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Utah, UCLA and University of Southern Cal (USC). This is more or less based on geographic location. To preserve the California instate rivals, Stanford, USC, UCLA and Cal will still play each other every year while the non-Cali schools with play one Cali school from the opposite division once a year then rotate.

The top 6 teams in the Pac 12 with the best BCS Championship odds along with the Pac-12 title are: Oregon, Stanford, Washington, Arizona State, USC and Utah. All of these teams have explosive players on their teams on both offense and defense. There are as many as four Heisman candidates between the top six teams in the Pac-12 and they are Oregon QB Darron Thomas, Oregon RB LaMicheal James, Stanford QB Andrew Luck, and USC QB Matt Barkley. All four of these players are very explosive offensively and help their team in many ways including leadership. QB Darron Thomas amassed for a total of 2,881 yards and 30 touchdowns in the air which gave him the rank of 2nd overall in the Pac-10. His teammate RB LaMicheal James was number one in the nation with 144 rushing yards per game and 24 touchdowns in all. QB Andrew Luck had a great year with 3338 passing yard and with 32 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions. QB Mat Barkley went for 2791 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. These boys sure know how to fill up the score board and fill it up quick!

The Pac-12 will be very great this year as it has plenty of teams to battle for the number one spot and a berth either into the Rose Bowl or BCS Championship game. Be sure not to miss the vicious inter state rivalry's this league has to offer!
